The Intermediate VET cycle in Digital Prepress trains specialists in everything that happens between design and printing: file preparation, imposition, colour management, preflight and professional workflows.

Students work with the software and standards used by the industry, learning to detect errors, guarantee the technical quality of files and communicate with design and production teams.

Intermediate VET gives access to Advanced VET in Design and Publishing or any other Advanced VET cycle with the corresponding entry requirements.

Academic pathway

On completion, students can access Advanced VET in Design and Publishing or join graphic companies, design studios or prepress departments.

Prepress Technician

File preparation and verification for print production in graphic companies and design studios.

Preflight Operator

Digital file quality control: error detection, resolution, colour space and crop marks.

Colour Management Technician

Monitor calibration, creation and application of ICC profiles, and colorimetric control throughout the production workflow.

RIP and Imposition Operator

File interpretation and processing for printing machines. Planning impositions and signatures.

Digital Retoucher

Image treatment and correction for printing: retouching, reconstruction and professional colour adjustment.

Studio Support Technician

Technical support in design studios and agencies: final file preparation, format adaptation and delivery to suppliers.
