A space designed to drive Vocational Training with cutting-edge technology: virtual reality, digital fabrication and audiovisual production. Open to all staff and students.
What is the ATECA Room?
The ATECA Room (Applied Technology Classroom) offers a technological environment for developing interdisciplinary projects. It is designed to promote active learning methods and prepare students for the professional world.
It is a dynamic space where diverse disciplines converge: design, digital fabrication, visual communication and immersive technologies.
Initiative supported by European Education Funds, within the framework of the Vocational Training Modernisation Plan.
Mission and scope
Foster digital competencies, experimentation and applied innovation in Vocational Training.
3D modelling, digital fabrication, audiovisual production, immersive simulation and systems programming.
Teaching staff and students, working groups and collaborative projects.
Facilities
The ATECA Room comprises several specialised spaces, each designed for a specific type of production or experimentation.
Main space: virtual reality, 3D printing, laser cutting, interactive panel, video conferencing, iPads and audiovisual studio.
Clinical simulation with Nursing Anne manikin and Little Anne CPR kit with AED trainers.
Observation and quality control with the ZEISS Primostar 3 microscope and 100× oil immersion objective.
Plotters and professional printing machinery for graphic production.
Use and bookings

Quick guide
Choose the most suitable material for the part you need. The Prusa XL is compatible with a wide range of technical and standard filaments.
For prototypes, educational models and decorative parts. Minimal retraction.
Combines ease and strength. Good for functional everyday-use parts.
For temperature- and impact-resistant parts. Requires Enclosure.
UV and weather resistance. Ideal for outdoor parts.
For gaskets, grips, mounts and elastic parts.
High mechanical and thermal resistance. For engineering parts.
Toughness and wear resistance. For gears and moving parts.
Water-soluble support material for complex geometries.
Specialised filaments: support (HIPS), food-safe (PP), vapour-polished (PVB), chemical-resistant (CPE).
Best practices
Bookings are mandatory.
Leave the space clean and equipment in good condition.
Report any incidents to the manager.
Respect deadlines and technical support slots.
Cutting machines and machinery: use only by trained staff with PPE.
3D printing: do not handle during operation; verify parameters first.
VR: supervision required when used with students; disinfect visors.
Activity
A collection of notable projects carried out in the school's ATECA Room.
Innovation project focused on developing digital tools applied to prepress, automation and verification of graphic processes. The project combines Graphic Arts and IT through the development of web applications, preflight systems and AI-based tools.
Technical training session on UV printing applied to rigid objects and substrates. Practical tests were carried out on configuration, file preparation and printing on different materials using the EPSON SC-V1000 printer.
Development of collaborative projects across different cycles and modules of the school. Notable activities include the design and fabrication of personalised keyrings for the Diada del Llompart event using the ATECA Room's laser cutter.
